I watched my grand daughter play on the beach with her uncle. She was having difficulty adjusting to the crashing waves. Her uncle would move further out in the water, then coax her to run to him. This game went on for quite some time, until eventually her uncle was standing knee deep in the water. She had to learn to trust her uncle before she could overcome her fear of the water.
God wants us to have a childlike faith (Matthew 18:3). He wants us to think of Him as we think of our earthly father. He wants us to come to Him for our wants and needs, and trust Him with our fears and dreams. Like our earthly father, He loves us and wants the best for us. Daddy is waiting for us with outstretched arms to provide us with more than we ever could want or imagine. All you need to do is reach out to Him and trust.
